Forgiven By The Hero is book 6 in the Heroes of Freedom Ridge series. Megan is a writer from out of town and Derek runs a Search and Rescue team and trains dogs. In this book Megan is actually the one doing the rescue when Derek stays out in the woods too long and a severe snow and ice storm erupts. Derek's dog alerts Megan when Derek passes out on the doorstep of her rented cabin. Stranded together in her cabin for three days with no electricity is both a struggle and a blessing. Both have trust issues that they have to work through. I was hoping for a Christmas wedding but it does have an almost happily ever after ending. Maybe the wedding is in the next book of this series. Guess I'd better keep reading. I really enjoyed this story.
